My friend and client, Jennifer, has a jewelry business called Urban Raku. Jennifer’s business has overtaken her living room and dining room space. We actually organized this a few years ago and completely dedicated the dinging room to her business.
At that time she was not ready to let go of her living room furniture and piano.
Her jewelry making often spread into her kitchen, family room and garage. For a time, she even rented studio space and moved everything out.
It was time to clear out these 2 rooms AND her past jewelry making supplies to allow for only her most current products and processes.
So often it is the past that keeps us from being organized. Past furniture, past product, past use of spaces. It is SO hard to rip that band aid off. We want to keep it all, but in keeping it all, we don’t have the space to enjoy the present.
It was not easy emptying and “dealing” with the past in each piece of furniture and box opened. A professional organizer really does help you push through the uncomfortable feelings change brings. They also help you get through a HUGE project in a few days.
I love seeing the relief in my clients’ eyes as they see their new space take on the purpose they want for it. It is so much easier to let go of the old when you can see the new so quickly.
Jennifer’s new work space will function so much better than in the past.
And her living room is now a state of the art showroom. It is exactly what she wanted.
My friend Jennifer also became a consultant on my 31 team. Jennifer is a serious crafter who works LONG hours and travels across the country to sell her beautiful artwork. So, when we had finished her office, I took a few minutes and organized an office on the go for her.
I love the Organizing Utility Tote. It is the perfect bag for organizing an office on the go. In one of the outside pockets I put all her price stickers.
These 3 pockets hold her pricing gun, receipt machine and an office supply pouch.
Sales receipts and a calculator fit in the other side pocket.
The front pockets are filled with breath mints, gum and a water bottle.
Using the Fold-N-File added stability and a side pocket for the larger wholesale order forms. Inside the bag are business cards, an electronic picture frame and a few baggies of office supplies.
One baggie holds credit card processing information, there’s one for jewelry repairs and another general office bag rounded out the inside of the bag.
Are you a traveling business? How do you organize your office supplies on the go?
